Rachael Malatesta is a tremendous addition to the SSP team. She grew up right here in Central Florida, attending Bishop Moore where she excelled as a multi-sport athlete. Rachael went on to offer her talents to Rollins College where she played four years with the Basketball team. Her passion has always been instructing; this is evident in the fact she got her B.S. in Elementary Education. She put that degree to use after college teaching 2nd grade classes at St. Margaret Mary. She also coached basketball and ran activities for the kids after school. Peers and kids alike took notice of something…she has one of those personalities that you just can’t help but like her. She quickly got asked to be the Assistant Athletic Director at St. Margaret Mary where she oversaw multiple teams, games and practices. Meanwhile, she was getting certified so she could be a Group Exercise Instructor through NESTA. Rachael Malatesta also got certified as a Certified Personal Trainer through National Strength and Conditioning Association. This became the spring board for her to take her infectious personality and her passion for teaching and apply them in the fitness arena.

One of Rachael’s best traits as a trainer… she cares! She cares how you are feeling, what things motivate you, what it is you are working towards and she works extremely hard to figure those things out so she can learn what drives you. She then applies a fun, upbeat, and enjoyable environment to help you get the most of your training. She has been a boot camp instructor from 2012 to present. At SSP, she will be overseeing all class-based training, but more than just overseeing, she will be one of the primary instructors! In 2014 Rachael continued to broaden her knowledge base by getting certified in the Functional Movement Screen. Identifying movement pattern compensations, and recognizing dysfunction in movement has helped elevate her brand of group training. She plans her sessions out meticulously allowing for variations so that no matter your level, elite or novice, she can make the workout enjoyable and challenging for you.
